Most commonly, production license model serial numbers that start with "002" are perpetual. ActivePDF does offer additional production license models where the serial number expires and needs to be renewed annually. The developer per user starts with a "125" or “126” and is an annual license. Annual licenses will stop working and without an extension key you will have a disruption in service when it expires.

Some products offer different licensing technologies: including the format of ActivePDF product activation keys/serial numbers, and the license utilities used in activation can vary depending on the product version. Refer to the list below for the most common serial number formats and whether licensing is perpetual or annual.

Note: In the example serial numbers below:

• represents the first 3 digits of numeric characters
• numeric characters can represent more than 1 license model
