DocConverter Release Notes 2015 R4.2
This software release for ActivePDF DocConverter 2015 R4.2 (2015.4.2.18221) includes bug fixes and new features.
Software Requirements
The following software is required to successfully use DocConverter.
- Windows Server® 2008 R2, 2012 R2, or 2016
- Microsoft® .NET Framework 4.0 (If it is not detected, it will be installed automatically)
Optional Software Applications
- (Recommended) Default converter: LibreOffice® 4.2 (if not installed, DocConverter can install it automatically)
- Install these applications if you want to use their native converters instead of the default converter:
- Microsoft Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, Visio®, Publisher (DocConverter currently supports Versions 2007, 2010, 2013, or 2016)
- Fuji® Xerox® DocuWorks™ Viewer Light 7.2.1 minimum
- Corel® WordPerfect®, X5, X6, and X7 (WordPerfect 15, 16, 17)
Notes:
- Install the applications before installing DocConverter.
- If this is the first time you are installing an ActivePDF product released in 2017 on a Windows 2012 server, you need to download and install two Microsoft updates for Windows 2012 servers. These updates resolve issues with the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Runtime Components. Hardware Requirements
The minimum hardware requirements for DocConverter are:
- 512 MB of RAM
- 150 MB of hard disk space (for application)
Note: Additional hard disk space is needed to meet the requirements of the installed applications and the volume of files being processed.
New Features
- DocConverter now includes a converter for CAD .dwg files at no additional cost.
- You can now use DocConverter to concatenate and convert into one output PDF file:
- The contents of a zip file containing multiple documents
Or - An .msg or .eml file with multiple attachments
- The contents of a zip file containing multiple documents

Bug Fixes
The following bugs were resolved since the last release.

16923 | After converting an .eml file, the Sent Date line was blank in the output file. | General updates to the code resolved this issue. |
17125 | After ActivePDF Services was stopped and restarted, subfolders in the Watch Folder were not processed. | Changes to the code related to how subfolders are monitored resolved this issue. |
17285 | During the conversion process, TIFF files images automatically scaled smaller in earlier releases of DocConverter. | DocConverter no longer automatically scales TIFF images to 72 DPI. You can turn on scaling using the custom DoNotScaleImageToPDFUnitsoption in the DC_Converters.xml configuration file located in: C:\ProgramData\ActivePDF\Settings\DocConverter You can set the option to 0 (scale to 72 DPI) or 1 (do not scale to 72 DPI).
