- May we know what is this critical update about?
- One of our technology partners inadvertently applied a date-related mechanism in their software. We discovered this a recently and have been working diligently with that partner to create the most seamless update experience possible.
- What happens if the patch is not applied before 17th Jul?
- Conversions using the IE engine will fail.
- One of the perquisites for this critical patch is we are using any version of WebGrabber from 2013 R1.0 to 2016 R2.4 our webgrabber is 2013.2.2.16089
- WG 2013 R2.2 is included in the versions affected
- For the other perquisite. You mention that we will need to apply this fix if the Internet Explorer (IE) Engine for conversions is used. May I know which .net dll reference or namespace that you are referring? Best if you can provide some sample code for the IE engine.
- oWG.EngineToUse = APWebGrabberInterface.ConversionEngine.IE; //IE engine use in .NET
- oWG.EngineToUse = 1 ‘ IE engine use in COM, 0 = Native, 1 = IE
- If the EngineToUse is not explicitly stated in the code, then it is defined in the Configuration manager. See attached image.
- Note that the source code overrides the Configuration Manager, so check the source code first.
- Can we do a further test after setting the system date to a future date?
- Yes
- Last but not least, where we can download the critical update from? Thanks.
- Download patch
