Converting Workbook Protected Excel Files Using MS Office 2007 or 2010 Converter Results in Errors
Excel files with workbook protection are failing due to an issue within Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Office 2010.
- Files sent to Watch Folders immediately result in an error.
- Files converted with the API result in error -215.
Note: If Verbose logging is on on, the DCHost.log may include: "The password you supplied is not correct. Verify that the CAPS LOCK key is off and be sure to use the correct capitalization."
These same files convert via DocConverter’s Libre Office converter with no issues.
Excel files that have workbook protection are failing due to an issue within Excel 2007 and Excel 2010.
This issue is addressed in the Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3).
Note: There is no current resolution for this issue in Microsoft Office 2010. ActivePDF recommends downgrading to Microsoft Office 2007 (with Service Pack 3) if you need to convert protected workbook files with DocConverter using the Microsoft Office converter.
